Spotlight on Universal Strategies
Overview
This training session provides staff with a practical toolkit of universal therapeutic strategies for everyday classroom use, sharing strong examples of effective practice from across the trust. Participants will gain resources for screening pupil needs, delivering universal sensory, motor and functional skill interventions, and grading support for learners who require additional opportunities, ensuring consistent, accessible provision for all pupils.

- Empower teachers to strengthen their pedagogical practice, ensuring high-quality, inclusive, and adaptive teaching that meets the diverse needs of all learners, particularly those with SEND.
- Create a culture of excellence in teaching and learning, with consistently high expectations for every pupil. Equip teachers to adapt their approaches to remove barriers, close gaps, and enable all children, regardless of background or need, to achieve their full potential.
- Develop teachers’ expertise through targeted professional development, academic research, collaboration, and the sharing of best practice, with a strong focus on adaptive teaching strategies and subject-specific pedagogy.

Occupational Therapist
Eve is an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist, with varied experience in healthcare services. Eve is dedicated to ensuring all students are empowered to engage in daily activities. Through working closely with SENCos, teachers and support staff, Eve aims to ensure students are supported to develop the skills necessary for successful participation in school life. Her holistic approach provides support on a universal, targeted and specialist level, through assessment, intervention planning and staff development.
