Microsoft Office Specialist (Outlook 2019)

Overview

The Microsoft Office Specialist Outlook 2019 certification builds essential digital skills and practical confidence in using Outlook to manage email, calendars, contacts, and tasks effectively. The programme focuses on core Outlook competencies, including organising inboxes, applying email management techniques, scheduling meetings, coordinating calendars, and maintaining accurate contact and task information. Learners develop hands-on proficiency in real-world tasks. The online platform provides 150 hours of instruction and hands-on experience to prepare learners for the Outlook Associate assessment, ensuring strong readiness for certification success.

This course is fully funded for residents of the North East Combined Authority (NECA) area, which includes: County Durham, Gateshead, Newcastle, North Tyneside, South Tyneside, Northumberland and Sunderland.

Delivered in partnership with Bishop Auckland College Group. Once enrolled onto the course you will be assigned a designated tutor and a weekly drop in session to ask any questions or access any support.

Our Aims

• Equip staff with a strong foundational understanding of Microsoft Outlook 2019.

• Build confidence and competence in practical Outlook use, enabling learners to manage inboxes effectively, apply rules and categories, schedule meetings, coordinate shared calendars, organise contacts, and use Outlook to improve clarity, productivity, and professionalism in their day-to-day roles.

• Promote responsible, efficient and secure digital practice, ensuring participants understand good email and data management, mailbox organisation, file protection, version control, accessibility features, and the appropriate handling of communication and information across professional and educational settings.

• Empower staff to innovate within their workplace, using Outlook to streamline communication, enhance coordination across teams, improve the quality and consistency of information sharing, and increase organisation and impact across a wide range of school roles.
