SEND

Leading SEND: Professional Development for SENCOs

Overview

The sessions are designed to promote consistency and drive high standards of SEND provision across all schools within the Trust. Training typically covers shared expectations for SEND support, trust-wide policies and procedures, leadership development, effective data tracking and reporting, and fostering collaboration between SENDCos and external partners. It also explores trust-specific approaches to inclusion, strategic planning, and working in partnership with trust leadership and external agencies.

Our Aims

  • Empower SENDCOs to develop and embed high standards of SEND leadership across all schools, strengthening a culture of inclusion and ensuring every child can thrive, regardless of need.
  • Foster strong, high-performing school cultures rooted in high expectations for all pupils, where success is not limited by barriers to learning.
  • Enhance and deepen SENDCOs’ knowledge of trust-wide policies, processes, and strategic priorities, equipping them to lead with confidence and consistency.
  • Promote collaboration and best practice sharing across the Trust, creating opportunities for SENDCOs to innovate, refine SEND provision, and drive sustainable improvement.
