Overview
The Subject Leaders’ training programme is an opportunity for Subject Leaders across the Trust to meet regularly to share expertise, discuss pivotal developments and to provide support and challenge for our leaders. Across the sessions, there will be a focus on developing the curriculum, raising achievement, and ensuring quality teaching for all. These sessions will provide opportunities for new and existing Subject Leaders to network with like-minded colleagues and will open doors for collaboration across our schools.
Our Aims
· Empower Middle Leaders to strengthen teaching and learning and embed challenge and coherence in the curriculum
· Create strong performing cultures in our schools, with high expectations for all pupils, ensure all children can achieve, no matter the social-economic background
· Enrich and develop teachers’ subject knowledge and impact through academic talks, resources and discussion, and the sharing of best practice
· Inspire teachers to consider how to develop engagement, enjoyment, curiosity and intellectual independence within and beyond the curriculum
· Provide a wealth of opportunities for collaboration across our schools, including partnerships colleagues who have similar departmental goals and aspirations

Michelle Archbold
Strategic Lead for English across the ALP trust
Michelle Archbold is the Strategic Lead for English across the ALP trust. She has been an English teacher for eleven years within ALP. She originally joined Parkside Academy in 2014 as an NQT and progressed through various roles before becoming Subject Leader for English in 2020. She has previously led on Communication whole school and across the trust. She is also an English Language marker for AQA and has been for many years. In her role as Strategic Lead for English, she has supported many schools with aspects such as curriculum improvement, KS4 raising achievement and staff development.
