Understanding Specific Learning Difficulties | Level 2

The Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Specific Learning Difficulties (qualification number provides learners with the knowledge needed to understand a range of Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs), how they are identified, and how individuals can be effectively supported in education, work, and everyday life. It is particularly suitable for those working, or wishing to work, in education, healthcare, social care, or support roles.

In person launch at Advance Learning Partnership, followed by 7 online workshops + independent study

Our Aims

· Develop an understanding of what Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs) are and how they differ from other learning needs or disabilities.

· Gain knowledge of a range of SpLDs, including conditions such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia, and ADHD.

· Understand how SpLDs can affect learning, communication, behaviour, confidence, and everyday life.

· Learn about the processes used to identify and diagnose Specific Learning Difficulties.

· Explore practical strategies and reasonable adjustments that support individuals with SpLDs in education, employment, and daily living.

· Promote inclusive practice by recognising individual strengths, reducing barriers to learning, and supporting equal opportunities.

· Increase awareness of the roles of professionals, families, carers, and organisations in providing effective support.
